Imperata cylindrica 'Rubra Red Baron' is more commonly known as Japanese Blood Grass. This striking ornamental grass features upright green and cranberry-red blades that deepen to burgundy red through late fall. Narrow white panicle flowers appear in late summer, but the main show in its attractive and bold foliage.
Rubra Red Baron Japanese Blood Grass is easy to grow and deer resistant. It thrives in partial sun in fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soil. It can be drought tolerant once established. Ideal as an edging plant or as a groundcover.
