Dark Side of the Moon' Astilbe hybrid USPPAF, Can PBRAF is a showy hybrid from the Proven Winners® collection and the only dark leafed Astilbe with purple flowers now on the market! It features rich deep chocolate brown leaves. Its emerging leaves are yellow with a dark margin that turns completely dark as it matures. Raspberry buds open to reddish purple flowers that attract bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators.
Dark Side of the Moon Astilbe is deer and rabbit resistant and thrives in dappled shade in humus rich, evenly moist, well-drained soils.
Companion plants for Astilbe include: Rhododendron, Hosta, Ferns, Heuchera, Ligularia and Japanese and Siberian Iris.
