3-4 Feet Tall 3 Feet Wide--
Rhododendron degronianum yakushimanum 'Koichiro Wada' is commonly referred to as Koichiro Wada Rhododendron. This is a somewhat rare variety that comes from one island in Japan, Yakushima Island. It is a very compact, dome-shaped, small evergreen shrub with dark spotted, light pink flowers in spring that quickly turn pure white. Glossy, olive green leaves have a thick felted covering of fawn hairs on the brown undersides that curve downwards.
Koichiro Wada Rhododendron is easy to grow and thrives in partial sun in rich, fertile, acidic, evenly moist, well-drained soils.
