PUSCH NORWAY SPRUCE -
2-3 Feet Tall 3 Feet Wide--
Picea abies 'Pusch' is commonly referred to as Pusch Norway Spruce. It was found as a witch's broom on Picea abies 'Acrocona'. It is an irregular, slow-growing dwarf evergreen shrub with a globose, spreading habit when young, maturing to a more upright form over time. It is noteworthy for its abundant bright red cones at the foliage tips in spring, creating a colorful early show. Cones mature to brown and persist into winter.
Pusch Norway Spruce is easy to grow and maintain. It does not require pruning and thrives in full sun in slightly acidic, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It can tolerate dry sites and prefers cooler climates. This unique selection provides year-round interest and color. It would look great nestled with perennials and other low-growing evergreens.
