  • CORNUS AMOMUM
SILKY DOGWOOD -

8-10 Feet Tall 8 Feet Wide--

Cornus Amomum is commonly referred to as Silky Dogwood. It is a medium-sized deciduous shrub that is usually found in lowland areas, swamp borders and shrub wetlands along streams and ponds. It features silky hairs on its leaves, hence the common name. It usually grows 8-10 feet tall with a spread of approximately 8 feet. Small yellow-white flower clusters bloom in late spring and give way to attractive berry-like drupes that change from white to blue as they ripen in late August. Birds love them!

Silky Dogwood thrives in nutrient rich, moist soils in full sun to partial shade. Benefits from mulch that will keep its roots cool and moist in summer. Ideal for moist to wet woodlands and naturalized areas for erosion control.
