It is an adaptable, compact, mounding shrub that features eye-catching crimson foliage all season. It is ideal as a mixed border plant. Tiny yellow flowers appear late spring followed by bright red berries in fall.
Crimson Pygmy enjoys full to part sun in average, well-drained soils. It will not tolerate standing water. It can be drought tolerant once established. It is deer resistant and tolerates urban pollution and can thrive in city environments.
