FINE WINE® WEIGELA

Weigela florida 'Bramwell' PP18513 is commonly referred to as Fine Wine® Weigela. It is a Proven Winners® Color Choice® selection with a compact, mounded habit that features small, refined-looking dark purple foliage that stays true throughout the summer. Hummingbirds and butterflies love the hot pink tubular flowers that emerge in spring.

Fine Wine® Weigela is deer resistant and thrives in full sun in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. Best to prune immediately after flowering. It is ideal for the front of the border or in a sunny perennial bed.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with full sun to partial shade. Water regularly but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune immediately after the main spring flush of flowers fades to maintain shape; avoid pruning in late winter or early spring, as this will remove the flower buds for the coming season.
