Zone: 5OPENING DAY™ DOUBLEFILE VIBURNUM
Viburnum plicatum 'PIIVIB-II' PP28958 is commonly referred to as Opening Day™ Doublefile Viburnum. This First Editions® plant is a deciduous shrub that can reach 6-7 feet tall and wide. It features round, baseball-size flowers in April which makes the name perfect for this winner. In spring it is covered with snowball-like flowers that open with a tinge of green and then quickly turn to pure white. Dark green, corrugated foliage turns a pretty dark red in fall.
Opening Day™ Viburnum thrives in full to partial sun in average, loamy, evenly moist, well-drained soils. This selection hits a home run for shrub borders, foundations and hedges.

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with full sun to partial shade. Water regularly but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune sparingly and only immediately after flowering to maintain shape; avoid pruning in late winter or early spring, as this will remove the flower buds that form for next year's blooms.
