SYRINGA PEKINENSIS
Grower Notes:

Syringa pekinensis is commonly referred to as Peking Lilac Tree or Chinese Tree Lilac. It is a vigorous, dependable tree that is quite adaptable to city environments. It is native to Asia and features beautiful amber-colored, ridged, peeling bark and fragrant, large, white flower clusters in early summer. Flowers attract bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators to the yard. In late summer, flowers give way to loose clusters of brown capsules that persist into winter adding winter interest.

Peking Lilac Tree is deer resistant and thrives in full sun in rich, fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is a relatively low maintenance tree that is ideal for wooded areas, on slopes and is also effective in urban settings along streets and in lawns and foundation plantings.
