SALIX MELANOSTACHYS
Grower Notes:
The Salix gracilistyla 'Melanostachys' is commonly referred to as Black Pussy Willow or Black Willow. It is a slow-growing, mounding deciduous shrub with a somewhat arching habit that is noteworthy for its purple-black winter stems covered in deep purple-black catkins with red anthers. Great for cuttings and as a conversation piece. The Black Willow enjoys full sun and rich, moist, well-drained soils.
