PRAIRIE GOLD® ASPEN
Populus tremuloides 'Ne Arb' is commonly referred to as Prairie Gold® Golden Aspen. It is a Nebraska native deciduous tree that is pyramidal in youth becoming more rounded as it matures. It is a fast grower and noteworthy for its disease resistance, drought and heat tolerance. Flowers are silvery catkins in early spring. It has attractive greenish-white, smooth bark and lustrous dark green leaves that flutter in the slightest breeze. Foliage turns an attractive golden yellow color in fall.
Prairie Gold® Golden Aspen thrives in full sun in moist, loamy, sandy, well-drained soils. It is ideal for use in naturalization projects and alpine settings.
