Ophiopogon planiscapus 'Yapard' P22128 Blackbeard™ is commonly referred to as Black Beard™ Mondo Grass. This fast-growing selection of black Mondo Grass is an semi-evergreen dwarf perennial grass that forms a large, tight, one foot tall clump with long, narrow, black grass-like leaves that arch gracefully outward and down. Small, white to pale lilac flowers form on 14-inch flower spikes. The flowers are followed by nearly black berries in fall, creating additional interest.

Black Beard™ Mondo Grass thrives in partial sun in average, moist, well-drained soils. Ideal planted en masse as edging or in mixed containers.
