LITTLE GIRL® RICKI MAGNOLIA

Magnolia Ricki is a cross between Lily Magnolia (Magnolia lilliflora 'Nigra' and Star Magnolia (Magnolia stellata). It is part of the Little Girl® series that bloom about 2-4 weeks later than Magnolia stellata and Magnolia x soulangeana so they usually escape potential damage from early spring frosts.

Ricki Magnolia features reddish-purple cupped flowers that fade to light pink before foliage appears. Ovate leaves turn dark green in summer and later a nice yellow to bronze tone.

Ricki Magnolia is a vigorous grower that enjoys full to part sun in evenly moist, rich, well-drained soils.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote new growth.
