MAGNOLIA JANE
Grower Notes:
The Jane Magnolia is a slow-growing, multi-stemmed, deciduous tree featuring cup-shaped, reddish-purple flowers with white interiors that bloom in spring shortly before the foliage appears. It may sporadically bloom in mid summer. Ovate leaves turn dark green in early summer and turn yellowy-bronze in fall.
The Jane Magnolia is a hybrid magnolia in the LITTLE GIRL® series created at the National Arboretum in the 1960's. It is a cross between Magnolia liliiflora and Magnolia stellata. This series blooms about 2-4 weeks later than Magnolia stellata and Magnolia x soulangeana so they usually escape potential damage from early spring frosts.
