KOLKWITZIA AMA PINK CLOUD
Grower Notes:
Kolkwitzia amabilis 'Pink Cloud' is commonly referred to as Pink Cloud Beautybush. It is a deciduous shrub that is closely related to Weigela and Diervilla. It features an arching, vase-shaped habit with fragrant, bell-shaped, clear pink flowers with yellow throats that appear in clusters in mid spring. Flowers attract hummingbirds, hawkmoths, bees and other beneficial pollinators. Flowers are followed by capsule-like fruits that persist on plants. Exfoliating bark on mature stems provides added winter interest.
Pink Cloud Beautybush enjoys full sun in average, sandy, slightly alkaline, well-drained soils. It can be pruned after flowering. It is ideal for mass plantings and foundation plantings.
