LIME RICKEY® HYDRANGEA

Hydrangea arborescens 'SMNHALR' PP28858 Proven Winners® Color Choice® Lime Rickey® is commonly referred to as Lime Rickey® Smooth Hydrangea. This selection features large, cool, lime-green mophead flowers with pink pollen in the center. Flowers attract all kinds of beneficial pollinators such as bees, hummingbirds and butterflies. Stems stay strong and hold up without bending or flopping.

Lime Rickey® Hydrangea is super hardy and a very reliable bloomer. It thrives in full sun in rich, fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It makes an excellent cut flower and dries particularly well. It is super hardy down to Zone 3 and blooms on current season's growth (new wood). It benefits from cutting the stems back about one-third its total height each spring, just before the new growth emerges. New shoots will emerge and bloom the same summer.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote new growth.
