It blooms on new wood and is noteworthy for its stunning variegated foliage of blue-green and white variegation and soft, pastel pink flowers from midsummer to fall. America Irene Scott Rose of Sharon thrives in full to partial sun in rich, fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soils. A nice bonus of Hibiscus syriacus cultivars is the ability to manipulate them into a tree shape for a more formal architectural feature.
