FAGUS SYL ROHANII
Grower Notes:

Fagus sylvatica 'Rohanii' is commonly referred to as Rohanii European Beech or Copper Beech. It is a majestic deciduous tree with a broadly pyramidal habit that features oak-like, serrated pointy leaves that emerge bronze-purple in spring and turn deep reddish purple in summer before maturing to orange-brown in fall. Red leaf veins and stalks contrast beautifully with the foliage. Smooth gray bark adds to its winter interest. Mid spring brings yellow-green flowers followed by bristly fruit that ripen in fall.

Rohanii European Beech is relatively low maintenance and easy to grow. It thrives in full sun in deep, rich, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It will not tolerate standing water. This beautiful rich purple Beech tree is ideal as a specimen plant.
