BIG BLUE SEA HOLLY

Big Blue Sea Holly (Eryngium zabelii 'Big Blue' PP20636), is an architectural superstar for any sunny garden. It is highly valued for its intense, electric blue, thistle-like flowers, which are larger than most varieties, reaching up to four inches across. These dramatic, iridescent blooms, which often feature blue coloring extending down the sturdy stems, appear from June through August. The plant's unique silvery-green, spiky foliage provides exceptional texture and is clump-forming, making it a reliable accent plant that matures to 1 to 2 feet tall and wide.

'Big Blue' Sea Holly is deer resistant and thrives in full sun with excellent drainage. It prefers dry, sandy, or gritty soil and is highly drought-tolerant once established. It is ideal for xeriscaping, rock gardens, or coastal sites. It is also great as a cut flower! As a tap rooted plant, Sea Holly dislikes being moved, so choose its permanent spot carefully.
