CORYLOPSIS SPICATA
Grower Notes:

Corylopsis spicata is commonly referred to as Spike Winter Hazel. This native of Japan is a dense, multi-stemmed, deciduous shrub that has an open, upright, wide spreading and picturesque branch structure. Pendent flowers appear before leaves in February and are soft yellow and fragrant. Alternate leaves emerge a rich, dark purple then turn dark green in summer, maturing to an attractive dark yellow-orange for fall.

Spike Winter Hazel thrives in dappled sun (filtered sun) and rich, evenly moist, well-drained soils.
