IVORY HALO RED TWIG DOGWOOD

The Ivory Halo Tatarian Dogwood is a beautiful, compact, variegated deciduous shrub with green and white foliage in summer and attractive red twigs in winter. It is a rapid-growing, multi-stemmed cultivar that is more compact than 'Elegantissima' with finer texture.

Tiny, yellow-white flowers appear in late spring followed by blue-white drupe clusters in summer which attract the birds. Fall color is shades of purple and red.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in full sun to partial shade; it performs best in sunny locations where stem color will be most vibrant. It is exceptionally adaptable to various soil types and uniquely tolerant of wet, boggy conditions. Pruning: The bright red stem color fades as the wood ages. To maintain the 'fire-engine' red color, you will need to practice rejuvenation pruning: in late winter, cut one-third to one-half of the oldest, dullest stems all the way back to the ground. This forces a flush of vibrant, new red growth for the following winter.
