Clethra alnifolia 'Pink Spire' is commonly referred to as Pink Spire Summersweet or Pink Spire Sweet Pepperbush. It is a rounded, densely-branched, deciduous shrub that produces rose-pink flower buds that open to very fragrant shell pink flower panicles from late summer to fall which are attractive to butterflies, bees and other pollinators. Flowers fade to dark brown seed capsules in fall and persist into winter. Serrated, glossy green leaves turn yellow in fall.

Pink Spire Summersweet thrives in full to part sun in acidic, fertile, moist soils. It can even bloom in part shade. Ideal for borders, beds, woodland areas and near water's edge.
