NIOBE CLEMATIS

Clematis 'Niobe' is commonly referred to as Niobe Clematis. This striking Clematis is an early-flowering selection that features large, velvety, deep red flowers that are 6 inch across. They contrast with its bright yellow anthers. Flowers hold their color well through the growing season and will bloom simultaneously on last year's growth from June through September.

Niobe Clematis is strong and vigorous, thriving in full to part sun in rich, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It belongs to the group of Clematis that flower in early summer on short shoots that develop from last year's growth. Some will flower again in late summer on new growth. Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth starts and after the first flush of flowers in early summer.
