Cimicifuga ramosa 'Atropurpurea' is commonly referred to as Snakeroot or Bugbane. This tall growing perennial can reach 4-6 feet tall with a spread of 30-36 inches. It features late summer creamy white, fragrant bottlebrush flower spikes over dark green foliage with purple accents. Flowers attract bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators.
Snakeroot thrives in part sun in organically enriched, consistently moist, well-drained soils.
