Chionanthus virginicus, commonly known as the Fringetree, is a deciduous tree with a spreading, rounded form that thrives in rich, moist wooded areas and near stream banks. It has lightly fragrant blooms in late May to early June that feature drooping clusters of fringe-like white drupe flowers. A full bloom Fringetree is stunning in full bloom! In fall its foliage turns an attractive mustard yellow.
