Zone: 6BLAUER HEINZ BOXWOOD
Buxus sempervirens 'Blauer Heinz' is commonly referred to as Blauer Heinz English Boxwood. It is a compact, slow-growing broadleaf evergreen shrub with soft blue-green evergreen foliage that can be sheared if desired.
Blauer Heinz English Boxwood is deer and rabbit resistant and thrives in filtered sun as full sun exposure may scorch the foliage. It enjoys average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. Shelter from harsh winter winds would be most beneficial. It is tough, hardy and easy to grow, and is ideal for small gardens and containers.

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil, selecting a location that offers full sun to partial shade. Buxus varieties are known for their shallow root systems, so consistent watering is vital to keep the soil evenly moist, especially during the first growing season. Prune as needed in late spring or early summer to maintain your desired form, avoiding late-season pruning which can stimulate new growth susceptible to winter damage.
