GIRARD CRIMSON EVERGREEN AZALEA

Azalea x 'Girard Crimson' is commonly referred to as Girard Crimson Azalea. It is part of the Girard series of Azaleas specially bred for hardiness and improved performance. This outstanding compact, semi-evergreen variety displays large, bright crimson-red, single flowers in mid to late spring. A great feature of the Girard Azalea is its foliage, both in summer and fall which adds incredible seasonal interest.

Girard Crimson Azalea thrives in full to partial sun in rich, acidic, humusy, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is ideal for foundation plantings and along borders.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining acidic soil with a pH between 5.5 and 6.5. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize with an acidic fertilizer in the spring.
