PURPLE LANCE FALSE SPIREA
Astilbe chinensis var. taquetii 'Purpurlanze is commonly referred to as Purple Lance Chinese Astilbe or Purple Lance False Spirea. This herbaceous perennial produces long-lasting purple plume flowers on 36" stems in late spring and early summer. As the season progresses, the flowers fade to lavender.
Purple Lance Chinese Astilbe is deer and rabbit resistant and thrives in dappled shade in organically rich, evenly moist, well-drained soils. Excellent in the shade garden and as cut flowers.
Companion plants for Astilbe include: Rhododendron, Hosta, Ferns, Heuchera, Ligularia and Japanese and Siberian Iris.
