GREEN MOUNTAIN® SUGAR MAPLE

Green Mountain® Maple is an outstanding upright to oval, deciduous variety that shows better heat tolerance than other cultivars. It has tatter-resistant, leathery, forest green leaves that age to a beautiful orange-red in fall.

Green Mountain® Sugar Maple prefers a rich, well-drained acidic soil in full sun. It is the most widely used Sugar Maple because of its hardiness and reliable reddish-orange fall color.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining acidic soil with a pH between 6.0 and 6.5. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
