GROWER NOTES:

Viburnum x juddii is commonly referred to as Juddii Viburnum or Judd Viburnum. It is a semi-snowball hybrid shrub and a cross between Viburnum carlesii and Viburnum bitchiuense. It has a rounded, deciduous habit with dark pink buds that open to sweetly fragrant, round snowball clusters of white flowers in spring. Flowers are followed by ornamental berry-like drupes which ripen from red to black in fall around the same time as its dark green foliage matures to purple. (Note on pollination: Viburnums usually need cross-pollination in order to fruit well. Using one of the parent species of V. carlesii should be sufficient for pollination.)

Juddii Viburnum thrives in full to partial sun in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It can be drought tolerant once established. Not only is it an excellent pick for a screen or hedge, but it makes an excellent specimen plant, giving back to the environment by attracting and supporting songbirds and pollinators.
